With the design of the BSH20 A "Stories" building, Dlubal customer PIRMIN JUNG has taken the classic apartment building to a new level. Due to the innovative use of cross-laminated timber, this customer project has a very special appeal, which fits remarkably yet harmonically into the cityscape of Amsterdam. A really interesting and beautiful building structure.
The new sports hall of the Alice Salomon School in Hanover is exceptional from an architectural and structural point of view. The timber structure stands on a reinforced concrete first floor and cantilevers above it at the sides about 18 ft.
The construction of a 328-foot-high tower at an altitude of about 6,890 ft above sea level is a particularly challenging task. A project of this type was realized in September 2020 in the area of the "Windsfeld" summit in Flachau / Flachauwinkl, Austria. The met mast is one of the tallest structures in Austria.
The ALBYR Structures team was commissioned to design a new industrial hall in a high seismic activity region. The hall includes seven interior double-hinged frames with tapered beam ends as well as floor levels for offices. The columns were designed to support crane girders for a 5.5-ton crane.
The new roofing system for the GULFIN Cameroun oil company's filling station in Douala is a particular structure with eccentric columns and non-symmetric cantilevered 21-foot-long beams.
With a height of about 137.8 ft, the lookout tower offers a unique view over the landscape of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, into the Saar Bow Valley and, if the visibility is clear, even as far as the Vosges Mountains. A unique structure called Sky Walk was built in Dolní Morava, Czech Republic, under Králický Sněžník Mountain at a height of 3,661.4 ft; it is unprecedented in Central Europe.
Sky Walk is a lookout trail leading up to 192 ft above the surrounding hilly terrain level. It is visible at a distance of several miles. The architectural design was created by famous Czech architect Zdeněk Fránek. The Czech company TAROS‑NOVA s.r.o., a customer of Dlubal Software, was responsible for the structural engineering and construction.
The continuous casting plant of the JSW ISPAT steelworks in India was extended by an additional level and completed by new plant components and stair towers. At the same time, the existing structure was reinforced to be able to absorb the additional weight of the new components as well as increased seismic loads.
In Krakow, Poland, multi-story residential buildings are being designed with Dlubal Software. They include commercial units on the ground floor and a one‑story underground parking garage.
The 5-story residential building with an impressive ecological balance was presented at the International Building Exhibition (IBA) in Hamburg, Germany. Being CO2-neutral in both its production and operation, the Woodcube's energy level corresponds approximately to that of a passive house. All material used in the timber cube is completely recyclable and biodegradable.
Isenmann Ingenieure from Haslach, a customer of Dlubal Software, was in charge of the structural planning. The calculation and design of the access core and the pile foundation made of reinforced concrete were performed in RFEM.
In May 2013, German Chancellor Angela Merkel inaugurated the Rügen natural heritage center in Prora. The highlight of the 4,659-acre natural heritage area on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen is the 131-foot-high "Nest Tower". It is the third tree tower that WIEHAG GmbH has built.
The tower stands at a height of more than 131 feet above sea level. Visitors are thus given a breathtaking view of the landscape from a height of over 262 feet.
Skywalk Allgäu is a path with a length of about 1,640 ft, installed at a height of 49 to 98 ft above ground, leading through the treetops of the Allgäu Alps. The path construction, built at approximately 3,281 ft above sea level, consists of cable-stayed and suspension bridge constructions. It is supported by 14 towers guyed with cables. The central point and major tourist attraction is the lookout tower, which is 164 ft high, offering visitors a wonderful view over the Alps, the Prealps, and Lake Constance.
The fourteen-story hotel directly faces Olympia World, Tyrol's largest sports and event center. The building represents one of the highest structures in the beautiful Alpine city of Innsbruck. Entering the terrace on the eleventh floor, visitors enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Tyrolean mountains and the Bergiselschanze, a world-famous ski jumping hill which is part of the annual International Four Hills Tournament.
The sluice gate is based on a pressure segment used to control the water level of the weir. The flap width is 23 ft, the total width of the structure is 34 ft. It is possible to dam water to a maximum height of 18 ft. The structure is made of S 355 steel.
The Eden Project in Cornwall, United Kingdom is a complex of two huge biome buildings consisting of several domes and outdoor gardens. Inside the biomes, there are several thousand species of plants collected from many diverse climates and environments, which serve for biological studies and exhibitions. The Rainforest Biome was built in the second phase of The Eden Project’s development. It is kept at a tropical temperature and moisture level and covers over 1,000 varieties of tropical plants.
